Hypercom complements its ZKA certified product portfolio in Germany Friday 12 March 2010 | 09:12 AM CET

US payment technology company Hypercom has expanded its portfolio of security payment and digital transaction services. The products are validated in compliance with the EMV POS standard of the German Central Credit Committee, the Zentraler Kreditausschuss (ZKA).

In 2008, Hypercom’s Artema Hybrid received the ZKA TA 7.0 approval for the German Electronic Cash card scheme. It was followed in May 2009 by another series of Hypercom products, like Optimum T4200 countertop terminals or M4240 Bluetooth and M4230 GPRS mobile models, all featuring integrated smart readers.

The new version of Artema Hybrid, Artema Hybrid and S10, has been configured with cardholder-facing S10 PIN Pad and its main functionality is to enable transmission of the transaction data.

The EMV standard defines the interaction at the physical, electrical, data and application levels between IC cards and IC card processing devices for financial transactions. Portions of the standard are heavily based on the IC Chip card interface defined in ISO/IEC 7816.
