Lloyds opens its doors to biometrics for its mobile banking service

Tuesday 20 September 2016 09:23 CET | News

Lloyds has announced it will add Touch ID to its mobile banking service offering customers at Lloyds, Halifax and the Bank of Scotland the possibility to log in using their thumb prints.

Customers will no longer need to go through the process of imputing passwords on mobile screens.

Additionally, apart from the speed and efficiency of logging with a finger or thumb print, biometrics mean customers no longer need to remember multiple passwords.

According to Lloyds, Touch ID is one of a series of improvements planned in the next 12 months. More than that, biometrics will transform the way that customers authenticate with the bank whilst enhancing their security.
