Barclaycard, Digital River to process card payments in Europe

UK credit card, insurance and loan services provider Barclaycard has inked a new contract with global e-commerce services provider Digital River.

The agreement will expand Barclaycard’s routes into market and allow Digital River to increase the European credit and debit card processing capabilities of its payments solution.

By using Barclaycard’s card processing platform, Digital River World Payments can further upgrade its ability to provide cross-border online payments in Europe. Digital River World Payments will act as a single commercial, technical and operational connection.

Barclaycard, part of Barclays Retail and Business Banking, is a global payment business which helps consumers, retailers and businesses to make and accept payments and to access short-term credit when needed.

Digital River provides e-commerce services, builds and manages online businesses for software and game publishers, consumer electronics manufacturers, distributors, online retailers and affiliates. The company’s platform offers site development and hosting, order management, fraud management, export controls, tax management, physical and digital product fulfillment, multi-lingual customer service, reporting and strategic marketing services.
