China: Alipay claims 65% share of online payments market

In 2015, around 65% of online payments in China were made through Alipay, a recent research study reveals.

This percentage represents a notable rise from 49.3% of the total payment transactions in teh domestic market in 2014, according to stats published by the mobile payments provider Alipay, nfcworld.com reports.

Tibet is the leading region when it comes to mobile payments, with a notable 83.3% conducted on mobile devices out of the online payment transactions in 2015.
