eBays Buyer Protection Policy now includes additional payment services

Monday 25 January 2010 10:17 CET | News

eBay has expanded its Buyer Protection Policy to include three additional payment services, Auctionbytes.com reports.

The three other electronic-payment services which are now allowed on eBay are Paymate, ProPay and Moneybookers, as well as its Bill Me Later service. eBay purchased Bill Me Later in October 2008 for USD 820 million in cash. At that time, the company estimated that Bill Me Later would generate USD 150 million in revenue in 2009.

In 2007, eBay eliminated buyer-protection for all transactions except for those using PayPal. eBay Buyer Protection will also cover credit card transactions, the same source indicates.
