PayPal educates SMEs on online payment services

Thursday 17 October 2013 09:33 CET | News

PayPal has started the 2013 campaign to help drive digital literacy through Australian small to medium enterprise (SME) sector.

The new campaign is aimed at educating businesses on online payment services, integrated invoicing, bill payment options and in-store tech solutions.

Its launch comes off the back of a survey of 507 SMEs commissioned by PayPal which found that three in five SMEs say that a low level of digital literacy is discouraging them from using technology to drive efficiencies.

According to PayPal Australia’s MD Jeff Clementz, cited by online media outlet Business Spectator, the study reveals a need to support the SME sector through rapid technological changes.

As part of its study into the SME sector, PayPal also revealed that only a third of SMEs list their contact details online and only one in five advertise their business online.
