Visa has launched V.me, a pan-European digital wallet service to be offered by banks and financial institutions, in the UK, France, Spain and Poland.

Provider of credit cards Nationwide Building Society, which has recently launched V.me in the UK, has been joined by issuers BPCE and LCL in France, with ING Bank Slaski in pilot in Poland and a number of pilots also underway in Spain. Global provider of payment and risk services WorldPay is Visa’s partner for the rollout in the UK.

V.me is a digital wallet service developed by Visa Europe in 2011. The service allows consumers to complete online transactions through an internet browser on a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

In recent news, Visa has launched its V PAY contactless payments in 125 GALERIA Kaufhof department stores and its subsidiaries in Germany, including the Sportarena stores and DINEA restaurants.
