UniCredit to introduce cloud in its datacenters

European banking and financial services group UniCredit has entered into an agreement with IBM to introduce cloud-based infrastructure within its datacenters and to create new IT service models.

Cloud-based analytics will enable UniCredit to predict and understand trading in financial markets.
The 10-year deal also involves the creation of a joint venture company, which will sell cloud-based IT services to other European companies and institutions. The partnership is aimed at transforming UniCredit’s IT infrastructure that supports all its commercial and private banking activities in Europe.

As part of the agreement, a joint venture between UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions, the global service company of UniCredit, and IBM will market and deliver IT infrastructure services to other European companies and institutions.

UniCredit is an international financial institution which services 20 European countries and an international network of 50 markets. The Group operates in the following countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and Hungary.
