Friday 4 May 2012 10:33 CET | News

American Express and US-based electronic commerce and payment processing company First Data have extended their OnePoint program, which offers American Express card acceptance as part of an integrated service for small and medium-sized merchants.

Under this program, third-party service agents provide American Express payment processing services. First Data provides payment processing services to merchants on behalf of American Express for American Express card transactions.

American Express has developed the OnePoint program to offer small to medium-sized merchants a service which provides a single source for statements, settlement and customer service for various card brands. First Data and American Express have signed the first agreement in late 2007 and First Data has been processing OnePoint since 2008.

First Data provides merchants, financial institutions and their customers with payment by debit or credit card, gift card, check or mobile phone, online or at the checkout counter.
