Thursday 10 May 2012 10:33 CET | News

American Express has launched a reloadable prepaid card available in Barnes & Noble college bookstores across the US dubbed American Express Campus Edition Prepaid Card.

Once card members receive their personalized cards, funds can be loaded online through a bank account, such as a savings or checking account, through cash loading via MoneyPak or at the register at participating Barnes & Noble campus bookstores.

Card members can view real-time transaction history, monitor spending, receive emails or text alerts for low funds or notifications when a transaction has occurred, disable/enable ATM access for the card, as well as schedule reloading of funds automatically.

In recent news, American Express and US-based electronic commerce and payment processing company First Data have extended their OnePoint program, which offers American Express card acceptance as part of an integrated service for small and medium-sized merchants.
