Global electronic payments software developer Bell ID has entered a partnership with a financial services provider located in Saudi Arabia to offer the latter an integrated EMV platform for central and instant issuance capabilities.

With the new features, the bank will be able to directly issue EMV debit cards to customers while at the branch. Both the instant and central issuing functionalities will be certified by MasterCard and by the Saudi domestic debit card scheme.

In addition to EMV data preparation and central and instant issuance services for contact-based smart cards, Bell ID will offer support for contactless (PayPass and PayWave), card/application lifecycle management, EMV parameter management as well as EMV PIN change capabilities via the internet. Furthermore, the combination of banking services with mobile devices for providing contactless applications using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology is also supported.

In 2009, the bank deployed Bell ID’s software for central issuance operations at its headquarters. Bell ID’s new instant issuance solution will be deployed at the bank’s branch and will be rolled out to over a hundred branches throughout Saudi Arabia.
