British Airways, Chase Card Services introduce EMV chip-with-signature technology for British Airways Visa Card

Tuesday 22 November 2011 14:42 CET | News

Airline company British Airways has teamed up with Chase Card Services, a division of JPMorgan Chase, to roll out EMV chip-with-signature technology for its British Airways Visa Card.

The British Airways Visa Card incorporates both, a microchip and a traditional magnetic strip. The new EMV chip-with-signature technology provides protection against criminal attacks because the encrypted chip prevents thieves from copying card details.

The new British Airways chip-with-signature credit card can be used everywhere traditional magnetic strip cards are accepted across the US and in more than 130 countries abroad where chip technology is implemented.

In recent news, Chase Card Services has partnered with MileagePlus, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Continental Holdings, to offer travel flexibility for airline customers.
