US-based financial services company Commerce Bank, a subsidiary of Commerce Bancshares, has added a data security service powered by e-commerce and payment processing company First Data to enable merchants to protect customers’ card data and reduce PCI compliance scope.

Commerce Bank will start offering the First Data TransArmor service to its business customers. First Data’s TransArmor application is set to protect consumer payment card data against identity theft. Leveraging the RSA SafeProxy architecture, the TransArmor solution encrypts and transports cardholder data to First Data and replaces it with a token as part of the transaction authorization process. Moreover, the features of the token allow merchants to continue to handle their business functions such as returns, recurring billing, loyalty programs and other analysis, without enabling card data to be used for fraudulent transactions.Currently more than 200,000 US merchants of all sizes are processing transactions with the First Data TransArmor service.

In recent news, Secure web access services provider Trusteer has entered an agreement with First Data. Under the terms of the deal, First Data is set to make Trusteer Rapport and Trusteer Pinpoint available with the First Data Internet Banking solutions.

Commerce Bank provides a wide range of financial services, including business and personal banking, payment processing, wealth management, financial planning, and investments through its affiliated companies.
