US-based electronic funds transfer (EFT) technology developer Compass Plus has launched an instant issuance service based on TranzAxis, an open application development platform for the retail banking sector.

The TranzAxis Instant Issuance service enables financial institutions to issue EMV and magstripe cards in-branch.

Compass Plus has also entered an agreement with manufacturer of personalisation equipment Mühlbauer in order to promote TranzAxis in the global market whilst enabling Mühlbauer to further extend their business into the banking sector, particularly instant card issuance.

TranzAxis is designed for the development and support of processing, retail banking and other systems and applications for the automation of retail banking activities.

In May 2012, Russian financial institution Nomos-Bank has entered an agreement with Compass Plus to be able to offer online account opening and loan management services via its Nomos-Link internet banking system backed by TranzWare internet banking.
