CreditCall rolls out EMV migration practice guide

Tuesday 23 April 2013 11:33 CET | News

CreditCall, a card-not-present, e-commerce and contactless payment transactions processor, has released its guide “How an EMV-enabled Payment Gateway can support migration to Chip” to help integrators, VARs and processors through the migration towards the EMV technology.

A major hurdle in the move to the EMV standard is the scale and cost of implementation, requiring virtually every single terminal to be modified or replaced, and banks to re-issue credit and debit cards. However, organizations that deliver EMV-compliant solutions can achieve a major advantage against competitors that are slower to market. They will also enable the US payments industry to close the gap on fraud migrating from other regions. Plastic card fraud in the US, using the still existing mag-stripe of skimmed or stolen UK Chip cards alone, reached almost USD 25 million (GBP 16.3 million) in 2011, according to Financial Fraud Action UK.

CreditCall provides credit and debit card payments processing, including card payments at unattended machines, over the internet such as buying on-line, e-commerce, over smartphones and computer tablets and card payments software, namely Chip and PIN software Kernels for contact and contactless transaction processing. The card payment services are aimed at e-commerce, mail order and call centres.
