Under the agreement, Ecobank is set to enhance its customer service levels by implementing Datacard financial instant issuance services for in-branch issuance of its Visa CashXpress prepaid cards.
The Visa CashXpress prepaid card, which is designed for both customers and non-customers of Ecobank as well as banked and unbanked people, can be used for payments and withdrawals from ATMs, point-of-sales (POS) and other terminals.
Datacard Group has also worked with African electronic payment services provider A2M Technologie to provide an integrated financial instant issuance service for Ecobank that includes the Datacard CE870 instant issuance system and CardWizard instant issuance software, as well as in-country local services and support provided by A2M Technologie.
Datacard Group allows financial institutions, government agencies and other enterprises in more than 150 countries to issue and personalize financial cards, passports, national IDs, employee badges, mobile payment applications and other credentials.
Ecobank provides financial services to businesses and customers around 30 African countries.
