US-based ID and card personalisation services company Datacard Group has launched the Datacard CD820 instant issuance system enabling financial organizations and retailers to issue payment cards.

The CD820 system provides features to help support business models including printing options for flat, pre-printed cards that can be personalized with monochrome or full-color printing using direct to card printing technology that creates edge-to-edge coverage with high quality graphics and images.

The CD820 system is also compatible with the patented Datacard CardWizard issuance software, which is an enterprise software application that is installed in financial institution branch locations. The CardWizard software transfers all cardholder personalization data to the CD820 system.

The CD820 system comes with optional features such as contact and contactless smart card encoding for a seamless transition to issuance of EMV chip cards, as well as a multi-hopper that increases branch-level operational efficiency by printing up to six different card types.

In recent news, Datacard Group has enhanced its Datacard MX Series Platform for central card issuance programs with the launch of the Datacard MX2100 and MX6100 card issuance systems.
