Discover Financial Services, Russian Standard Bank extend partnership for Discover card issuance in Russia

US-based direct banking and payment services company Discover Financial Services has extended its agreement with financial institution Russian Standard Bank (RSB) to allow the latter to become the exclusive partner for issuance, acceptance and promotion of Discover cards in Russia.

In 2011, Russian Standard Bank became the exclusive partner of Discover Financial Services with the issuing and servicing of Diners Club International (DCI) cards in Russia. The extended agreement is a new stage in the development of this partnership in which Russian consumers will be offered new Discover- issued cards.

In recent news, PayPal has inked a contract with Discover Financial Services. Under the terms of the agreement, PayPal will issue payment cards to its more than 50 million active users in the US, beginning with April 2013.
