easycash buys RBS WorldPays German POS acquiring division

German payment services company easycash has acquired the German merchant POS portfolio of RBS WorldPay, a provider of payment processing services and the German domestic acquiring unit of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

As a result of the acquisition, easycash enters the credit card acquiring market by offering merchants credit card acceptance for MasterCard and VISA. The parties signed the purchase agreement on 22 June 2009 and the purchase price has not been disclosed.

easycash provides card-based cashless payment transactions settlement services at the point of sale. Its services include electronic cash payment procedure, online direct debiting, factoring, return debit note receipt, individual lock files, and risk management, as well as payments by credit card, money card, and private label cards.
