Fifth Third Bank introduces Duo Card

Monday 29 August 2011 14:32 CET | News

US financial services provider Fifth Third Bank has launched a combined credit and debit card, dubbed Duo Card, to enable customers to carry out card transactions.

Powered by MasterCard, Duo Card allows customers to choose either a line of credit or funds available in their checking account to make purchases. To draw funds from their checking account, cardholders have to select the debit option at the point of sale and enter their PIN, or they can withdraw money from their checking account at an ATM. The card’s signature transactions are not directly linked to the customer’s checking account.

In February 2011, Fifth Third Bank has selected US-based mobile banking services provider ClairMail to power its new mobile banking service. Fifth Third Bank will use ClairMail’s mobile platform to enable its customers to control their personal finances through mobile web, SMS and a client application available on several mobile devices.
