Dutch digital security company Gemalto has entered an agreement with Russian financial institution Svyaznoy Bank to provide the latter with prepaid card services.

Under the agreement, the prepaid card will be distributed via Svyaznoy service networks and mobile communication centers alongside a number of other sales channels. This card is associated with MasterCard and Visa and can be processed at any location that accepts these payment methods.

In recent news, UK-based technology provider ARM, Gemalto and Germany-based electronic payment services provider Giesecke & Devrient have teamed up to introduce a new security standard for smartphones that can upgrade e-commerce transactions.
