Google rolls out credit card comparison ads for US users

Tuesday 16 November 2010 10:22 CET | News

Google’s credit card comparison engine has been recently made available for US users, allowing them to compare credit card offers by APR, rewards or several other criteria, online media outlet mybanktracker.com reports.

The newly-released Google ad comparison tool appears at the top of Google’s search results. Moreover, the credit card comparison ad is set to search and sort options. In addition, the engine is expected to provide price info and print possibilities at the bottom of the page.

Given the widespread adoption of the comparison ad, card issuers are expected to adjust their Google search buy, in order to gain better exposure on the comparison results page. Currently, APR is the default sort mechanism.

Google has also trialed credit card comparison ads for UK users, including 101 credit card offers, as well as a mortgage comparison platform. Nevertheless, Google isnt currently being paid for the credit card comparison ads.
