KBC Bank Ireland, Acquirer Systems partner for MasterCard debit card rollout in Ireland

Tuesday 3 September 2013 11:44 CET | News

Financial services provider KBC Bank Ireland (KBC) has entered a strategic alliance with Acquirer Systems, an Irish provider of software services to the payment card industry.

Under the terms of the agreement, KBC Bank Ireland is set to use Acquirer Systems’ flagship product ASTREX, as its issuing testing platform, to support the launch of the bank’s MasterCard debit card portfolio.

KBC has selected Acquirer Systems’ ASTREX to accelerate the rollout of payments products starting with its new MasterCard Debit Card. ASTREX provides card issuers with a test environment that simulates the end-to-end payments ecosystem. The deployment of ASTREX enables the bank to verify the performance standards it sets for products independently of its outsourced processing provider.

In recent news, global payment services company TSYS has signed a multi-year payments agreement with KBC Bank Ireland to launch its debit card portfolio in Ireland.
