MasterCards Q3 2010 purchase volume up 22.6% in Latin America and Caribbean region

MasterCard has seen its Q3 2010 purchase volume increase by 22.6 percent to USD 32 billion in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region, as compared to Q3 2009, recent financial results have revealed.

According to the results, the 727 million transactions registered in the LAC region in Q3 2010 have reached a total gross dollar volume of USD 55 billion, up 17.4 percent on a local currency basis, compared to the same period under review in 2009.

Additionally, during the same period, the number of cards in the region reached 126 million. Moreover, the company’s cardholders could use their cards at 30.9 million acceptance locations worldwide, including 3.7 million locations in the LAC region, the same source has revealed.
