Friday 20 November 2009 15:34 CET | News

Miami International Airport has entered an alliance with MasterCard Worldwide to accept MasterCard PayPass contactless payments in its parking lots starting December 2009.

PayPass implementation will be managed by ACS, a developer of airport parking systems. MasterCard PayPass is an EMV contactless payment option which enables cardholders to pay by tapping a payment card or other payment device, including a phone or key fob, on a POS terminal reader instead of swiping or inserting a card. As of Q1 2009, there are almost 55 million PayPass cards and devices at over 146,000 merchant locations worldwide. So far, MasterCard PayPass trials and rollouts have been conducted in 25 markets.
