NETS unveils FlashPay smartcard

Electronic payment services provider NETS has launched a new smartcard called the FlashPay card for Singaporean customers, channelnewsasia.com reports.

The FlashPay card is CEPAS-enabled (CEPAS or contactless e-purse application is a Singaporean specification for an electronic money smart card) and can be used for public transport, ERP gantries, carparks and at over 2,500 retail outlets. NETS also collaborates with banks, including OCBC, UOB and DBS to offer customers ATM and debit cards starting November 2009.These cards will be integrated with FlashPays stored value capacity.

Presently, NETS has 37,000 merchant partners and almost 2,500 of them are already FlashPay enabled.
