NTT DOCOMO teams up with Visa Japan

Japanese mobile operator and provider of integrated mobility services NTT DOCOMO and Visa Worldwide (Japan), a payments technology company, have teamed up to offer a virtual prepaid card service to their customers.

The DOCOMO Kouza Visa Prepaid users will receive a 16-digit card number linked to their account on docomo Kouza, the companys electronic money service, to shop at online stores where Visa is accepted.

Under this agreement, two types of virtual prepaid cards are set to be available. The one-time card, which is valid for 10 days and is aimed at casual shoppers and those who would like to try out the service, while the regular card, which is valid for three years, is designed for customers who want to use the service regularly.

NTT DOCOMO is a developer of technologies for NFC mobile payments, mobile GPS, mobile TV, mobile assistance, environmental monitoring, smart grids and others.
