Indian mobile payments company Obopay has made available its disbursement service dubbed Obopay Disbursements to enable companies to disburse funds from their corporate accounts into payees’ debit card accounts at other banks.

Obopay Disbursements also enables disbursements as an electronic cheque through a clearinghouse (ACH) transaction or to a branded prepaid card. The service delivers real-time balance and transaction reporting for reconciliation of transaction types.

Companies can transfer funds from their corporate accounts to customers’ debit card, to bank accounts via an electronic cheque, to branded prepaid cards or to an Email address, phone number or mobile wallet allowing payees to select where to direct the funds.

Obopay provides mobile money technology and services that allow mobile phone users to send and receive money, disburse funds, get paid or pay small businesses, top-up accounts, buy via mobile and pay bills. In recent news, Obopay and Pulse, a subsidiary of Discover Financial Services, have entered an agreement to enable real-time money transfer services for PULSE financial institution participants.
