US secure electronic payment services provider VeriFone has closed a deal with Hungarian credit institution OTP Bank to provide the latter with electronic payment systems in Hungary. The two companies are to roll out contactless MasterCard PayPass cards.

OTP Bank is being supplied by VeriFone’s local partner, INPAS International, with the contactless version of VeriFone’s PINpad 1000SE, which offers the possibility to accept both PIN-based and contactless payments.

The contactless PINpad 1000SE combines two payment peripherals—PIN entry and contactless—into one device. It is also compatible with earlier versions, and features USB or serial connectivity to connect to electronic cash registers and POS device.

INPAS is a supplier of technological services for acquiring networks and the official representative and partner-distributor of VeriFone EFT POS systems in Russia and the former CIS countries.
