PFS launches prepaid MasterCard-branded card in France

UK prepaid card programs provider Prepaid Financial Services has rolled out the PCS Prepaid MasterCard together with the French company Creacard. 

To use the PCS card, customers have to purchase it in a store, retrieve their PIN via SMS command and load it with cash at the counter. The SMS capability enables the cardholder to initially load and top-up its card with funds, share money with family and friends who have additional cards, lock and unlock the card instantly and obtain their card balance. The PCS card can be loaded with cash in store and also via pre-printed vouchers in denominations of EUR 20, EUR 50 and EUR 100. The card is set to provide online spending capabilities to the large unbanked community in the country.

The card is currently available for purchase in 5,000 retail outlets throughout France and will be extended to 20,000 merchants in Q1 2011.The PCS card is issued by Transact Network which issues Visa and MasterCard physical and virtual prepaid cards.

Founded in 2007, PFS provides various programs, including Foreign Currency cards, Money Remittance, Travel, Payroll, Corporate expenses solutions, Commission payouts and Social and Benefit Payments.
