Romanian Banca Transilvania to deploy BPCs SmartVista card processing system

E-payment and retail banking services provider BPC has teamed up with Romanian financial company Banca Transilvania to provide the latter with its SmartVista card processing offering.

Under the terms of the deal, Banca Transilvania is set to deploy the SmartVista Front-End system, the SmartVista Back-Office module for card and merchant management, as well as SmartVista CardGen for magnetic stripe and EMV cards personalisation.

One SmartVista has been integrated into the Romanian bank’s existing IT infrastructure, BPC will migrate the bank’s card business to the new processing platform with a complete removal of the existing TP-Gold and TP-CMS card processing services. The implemented solution is expected to provide quality support for the whole range of card products and services including credit card products and EMV cards, interaction with internet banking, mobile banking and risk-management solutions as well as tools for terminal management.

Banca Transilvania operates a portfolio comprising over 1.5 million cards; its extended network also includes over 12,000 POS-terminals and 800 ATMs.
