Friday 23 April 2010 10:17 CET | News

Visa has rolled out a branded prepaid card that incorporates payment capabilities, transit fare as well as event ticketing for the residents of Singapore.

Visa Prepaid card owners can utilize the card to pay for trips on Singapore’s public transportation system, to make purchases at Visa merchants, as well as participate to the opening and closing ceremonies for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Singapore.

Visa has developed the prepaid card in collaboration with local banking partner DBS Bank and public transport system EZ-Link. The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee will conduct a ballot for tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies for two weeks beginning 23 April 2010, after which successful applicants will receive the card.

The Games will be held from 14 to 26 August 2010.
