sQuid eMoney rolls out contactless smart card with Pizza Hut stores in Scotland

Friday 11 September 2009 09:47 CET | News

UK-based contactless payment services provider sQuid has launched a new Pizza Hut branded pre-pay contactless smartcard for customers at stores in Dundee, Scotland.

sQuid’s eMoney smartcard employs contactless payment technology and aims to replace cash transactions in fast retail environments. It can be used for “tap and go” payments for items worth under GBP 10. Deploying its own technologies, sQuid’s smartcards aim to deliver faster transactions than traditional chip & PIN cards. sQuid has a multi-purse capability and is compatible with ITSO (transit) schemes.

sQuid eMoney cards are accepted at the participating Pizza Hut Delivery stores in Dundee. Customers can register their cards online and then view their transactions, top-up their card and receive vouchers via email.

sQuid allows additional functions to be delivered to the card holder and the retailer. This enables a sQuidcard to be used not only for low value purchases but also as a pre-pay transit card.
