UnionPay to be enabled in Paris museums

UnionPay International has announced that UnionPay cards will be accepted in 14 museums in Paris.

As part of the integration, the museums will enable all their POS to accept UnionPay cards, an important payment method used by Chinese tourists travelling overseas. 

Approximately one Paris visitor out of 4 comes from abroad and 7% come from Asia. France remains a popular destination with Chinese tourists, with over one million visiting Paris each year.

The 14 museums include: Palais Galliera, Petit Palais, Maisons de Victor Hugo Paris – Guernesey, Musée de la Vie romantique, Musée Carnavalet-Histoire de Paris, Les Catacombes de Paris, Crypte archéologique de l’île de la Cité, Musée d’Art moderne, Maison de Balzac, Musée Bourdelle, Musée Cernuschi, Musée Cognacq-Jay, Musée de la Libération de Paris, Musée Zadkine.

By the end of 2018, 65% of European merchants accepted UnionPay cards, covering 3.3 million merchants in 40 countries, an increase of 30% in the number of the continent’s merchants accepting UnionPay compared to 2017.
