US: credit card transactions on the way up

In 2013, a higher number of consumers are expected to make credit card transactions, as compared to 2012, recent statistics indicate.

According to a survey released by Visa for the period between 1 of January and 28 of February 2013, US aggregate payments have jumped 3 percent as compared to the same period in the previous year.

The same source shows that US credit payments volume has also increased 11 percent, while debit payments volume has only grown 3 percent. Data also points out that Visa’s cross-border volume has gone up by 10 percent over the 2012 period, while processed transaction has jumped 4 percent globally.
