Vesta Corporation provides online reload service for NetSpend Prepaid Debit Cards

Monday 21 December 2009 10:55 CET | News

US electronic payments services provider Vesta Corporation has teamed up with NetSpend, a provider of card-based prepaid financial products to underbanked consumers, to launch a web-based reload service for the latter.

Based on Vesta’s payment technology, the service allows NetSpend customers to add funds to their prepaid debit cards from bank-issued debit cards.

NetSpend cardholders can now add up to USD 250 to their prepaid debit cards from any bank debit card. New funds are added in real-time to the cardholder’s account, making funds immediately available. NetSpend cardholders can thus reload their prepaid debit cards without having to visit a point of sale location.

Vesta’s program includes a gifting feature that allows a customer to invite friends and family to contribute to a prepaid account. Invitations are delivered by email and include a link to begin the reload process. If desired, contributors can set up an account to expedite future reloads.
