Visa Europe, Streamline roll out contactless payments for Boots UK stores

Thursday 14 February 2013 09:41 CET | News

Visa Europe and Streamline, the UK-based face to face card payment processor, have initiated further roll out for contactless payments through their partnership with Boots UK, a member of Alliance Boots, a pharmacy-led health and beauty group.

The full roll out follows an initial launch which has seen over 600 of the largest Boots UK stores begin to provide contactless payments to customers. All Boots stores in the Republic of Ireland now provide this method of payment.

The contactless technology provided by Visa Europe and Streamline allows customers to tap the reader with their contactless enabled card when making payments.

In recent news, global payment services company TSYS and Visa have teamed up to use TSYSs technology to authenticate account holders for India’s new Saral Money program, which aims to provide Aadhaar number holders with access to prepaid Visa accounts.
