Visas 2010 payments volume up 20.3% in Latin America and the Caribbean

Visa’s total payments volume in Latin America and the Caribbean was worth USD 253 billion for the fiscal year ended in September 2010, a 20.3 percent increase compared to the same interval in 2009, recent financial results have revealed.

As far as Brazil and Mexico are concerned, the countries saw their total Visa payments volume for the year ended in September 2010 grow by 23 percent and 14 percent, respectively, compared to the interval under review in 2009.

In addition, the results have shown that for the fiscal year ended in September 2010, the rest of the countries in the region witnessed an increase in their Visa payments volume by 17.1 percent, compared to the same period in 2009.
