Western Union, InComm in General Purpose Reloadable prepaid cards deal

Global payment services provider Western Union has signed an agreement with marketer and distributor of stored-value gift and prepaid cards Incomm to offer Western Union General Purpose Reloadable prepaid cards (GPR).

The Western Union MoneyWise Prepaid Card will first be offered in the US through InComm retail locations. The Western Union MoneyWise prepaid card enables customers to reload money in-person at Western Union agent locations in the US, to use direct deposit through an employer, to load a Western Union Money Transfer transaction directly to the card and to add funds online using a bank account. The prepaid card can be used at locations where Visa and MasterCard debit cards are accepted including online and ATMs. The card account and can be managed online and over the phone.

InComm is set to offer the MoneyWise prepaid card to its 150,000 retail locations, including grocery, convenience stores, pharmacies and mass merchandiser locations.

The Western Union MoneyWise prepaid card complements the Western Union GoCashSM service, an in-lane money-transfer service offered via InComm retail locations in the US since December 2009.
