Wincor Nixdorf awarded ATM order by State Bank of India

German retail banking hardware, software and services company Wincor Nixdorf has been awarded an ATM order by Indian financial services provider the State Bank of India (SBI).

Under the terms of the deal, Wincor Nixdorf and its local partner AGS Infotech are set install 300 multifunctional ProCash 2100xe systems and 700 ProCash 1500xe cash dispensers for SBI. The bank currently operates round 15,000 ATMs and 12,000 bank branches across India.

As part of the contract AGS Infotech will supply, install, commission and maintain the ATMs at sites across the country on behalf of Wincor Nixdorf.

SBI plans to add a further 1,000 branches and 10,000 ATMs in the interval between 2009 and 2010, in order to address the rising demand for self-service machines in India’s urban areas.
