WorldPay, Diners Club International to boost card acceptance in the UK

Wednesday 23 November 2011 13:25 CET | News

WorldPay, a payment services provider, has entered a merchant acquiring deal with Diners Club International (DCI), a business unit of Discover Financial Services, to increase the acceptance of Discover and Diners Club cards across the UK.

Following the agreement, WorldPay is set to introduce Diners Club and Discover as a standard payments option to its payments processing services portfolio starting with 2012. At present, WorldPay provides Diners Club acceptance only on request by a merchant, but the company has revealed plans to provide all merchants with Diners Club and Discover cards and support D-PAS, Discover’s EMV-compliant payments service.

In recent news, WorldPay has also teamed up with CSI, a UK-based multi-channel services provider, to develop a new payment plug-in for the IBM WebSphere Commerce platform.
