Tuesday 23 August 2011 09:00 CET | News

Fingerprint sensor services provider AuthenTec has integrated its TCS2 TouchChip sensor into contactless products provider TazTags TazPad Android tablet.

TazTag’s new TazPad Android tablet will provide users with fingerprint authentication as part of NFC-based mobile payment transactions. The tablet has been designed for professionals who want to link a bank, a store or other institution’s back-end system with customers via a mobile platform. TazPad includes INSIDE Secure’s SecureRead, a pre-integrated NFC microprocessor with chip, Secure Element, and operating system in a single application-ready package.

AuthenTecs TCS2 sensor is mounted on the front of the TazPad to enable user authentication. TazPads TCS2 utilises AuthenTecs durable SteelCoat surface coating to provide additional protection for the sensor.
