EEMA joins SSEDIC network to boost digital single market

Friday 4 March 2011 10:46 CET | News

The European association for e-identity and security EEMA has become a partner for Scoping the Single European Digital Identity Community (SSEDIC), a thematic network for EC’s Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE).

Under the partnership, EEMA will collaborate with other stakeholders in electronic identity (eID) across Europe to launch a European initiative on eID management (eIDM) in 2013. Via this initiative, Europe’s intentions are to set up a single market to enable cross-border businesses. SSEDIC’s responsibility is to eliminate barriers to online transactions in order to boost the digital economy within the Member States for DAE’s 2020 deadline.

EEMA will partner with other project and pilots, including the eIDM Expert Working Group, the Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) and STORK to work on the initiative.

EEMA has joined the SSEDIC network along with other 34 partners, T-Systems, Microsoft, IBM, the university KU Leuven and the standard services provider BSI.
