Entersekt, LastPass to add multifactor authentication

Tuesday 29 October 2013 10:37 CET | News

Entersekt, a South African provider of transaction authentication technology, has inked a contract with LastPass, a password and data management service, in order to provide its Transakt mobile application to users of the password management system as an added layer of multifactor authentication.

With the addition of Transakt to the current suite of multifactor authentication methods offered by LastPass, Entersekt provides users with protection for managing their various passwords through its security practices. LastPass users leveraging Transakt through the password management system will have to authenticate their identity each time they access their account by selecting ‘accept’ or ‘reject’ via an encrypted notification sent to their mobile device.

Entersekt was founded in 2008 and provides an enterprise security platform enabling a secure communication channel between the enterprise and mobile users. Entersekt’s mobile application Transakt verifies both the bank and the mobile device, eliminating the need for hardware tokens or one-time passwords. The bank retains full control over registering users and all communication is encrypted end-to-end and cannot be intercepted by outside parties.

In recent news, Entersekt has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store data through the company’s cloud services.
