Facebook outage not the result of hacking attack

Tuesday 27 January 2015 10:00 CET | News

Social media channel Facebook has resumed normal service after an hour of downtime.

The company has said the outage was not a result of a third party attack, as hacker group Lizard Squad claimed credit. Instead, it occurred after Facebook introduced a change that affected the configuration systems.

One significant repercussion is that the outage has affected apps that rely on Facebook for user log-in, such as Tinder.
