Thursday 18 July 2013 11:00 CET | News

US-based payments processor Heartland Payment Systems has selected Alaric International, a UK-based provider of payment and enterprise fraud detection systems, for its Fractals fraud prevention and detection product.

Under the terms of the deal, Alaric will monitor Heartland Payment Systems’ more than 300 million card transactions that it processes each month.

Fractals is a fraud detection and prevention framework suitable for PSPs, online merchants, card issuers, acquirers and payments processors. The Fractals Rules Engine enables fraud analysts to create and deploy fraud detection rules to reduce fraud. When used in-flight, illegal transactions can be detected and stopped before a transaction is completed.

Alaric offers financial institutions such services as payments authorisation, payments integration as well as fraud detection. Heartland Payment Systems delivers credit/debit/prepaid card processing, gift marketing and loyalty programs, payroll, check management and related business services to over 250,000 business locations nationwide.
