Monday 20 December 2010 11:19 CET | News

US electronic identity services provider HID Global has acquired US-based intelligent identity assurance company ActivIDentity. The acquisition has been made via ASSA ABLOY, HID Global’s parent company.

With the acquisition, HID Global is expected to enhance its logical access services, enabling enterprises, financial services providers and government customers to meet security and compliance requirements with the industry’s user authentication products.

ActivIDentity’s services are set to establish a person’s identity for digital interactions, whereas HID Global’s product suite is set to offer physical access control and card issuance. By combining these services, a single mart card is expected to support multiple authentication methods.

In recent news, HID Global has added a new mobile sticker to its product suite of contactless payment and identification cards.
