ID TECH, a global provider of automatic identification products, has partnered Voltage Security, a global provider of data protection services. Under the deal, ID TECH has been authorized to implement Voltage’s encryption technology into its range of point-of-sale products including magnetic stripe, smart and contactless card readers, POS keyboards, signature capture devices as well as secure PIN entry products.

With the new Voltage SecureData application, ID TECH aims to provide its customers with a wider set of data protection services, incorporating encryption and tokenization. ID TECH has also joined the Voltage SecureData Open License Program. The program is designed to lower the barriers encountered in the implementation of data encryption across a wide variety of payment systems including integrated business management platforms, POS devices, electronic cash registers (ECRs), mobile payment devices and e-commerce payment platforms.

Powered by Voltages Format-Preserving Encryption(Voltage FPE) and Voltage Identity-Based Encryption (Voltage IBE) technologies, Voltage SecureData ensures that sensitive cardholder data is encrypted instantly at point of capture. Voltage payment security products are available either integrated with a variety of hardware platforms or as a software-only implementation for e-commerce platforms.
