India: Oriental Bank of Commerce launches e-KYC services

Indian financial institution Oriental Bank of Commerce has introduced an electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) facility, which verifies a customer’s identity and address proof after the Aadhaar number is keyed in to the system.

Using the newly added service, a customer is now able to open an account with the bank by providing the Aadhaar number and scanning one of his/her enrolled fingertips at biometric device available at branches.
