Indiana offers online method for identity theft prevention

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and IN.gov, the official website of the state of Indiana, now offer ValIDate to banks and businesses.

ValIDate is a new service which provides an opportunity to prevent ID fraud. By making use of the new ValIDate application at the point of service, an authorised representative enters basic information, such as ID number, first, middle and last name, and date of birth, exactly as it appears on the identification card presented. ValIDate searches the official database of the BMV, providing results in a few seconds. No personal information is released via this service.

IN.gov is the official website of the state of Indiana ( www.IN.gov ) and a service of the Indiana Office of Technology. NIC EGOV is the nations provider of government websites, online services and payment processing solutions.
